Preserve a Beach, Create a Job.
Pura Vida, meaning "Pure Life", is a phrase one hears all too often in the tiny Central American country of Costa Rica. It is also a phrase to live by. With it's pristine beaches and friendly residents, Costa Rica has become one of the top travel destinations in the world.
The country straddles both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and I've recently come across a nonprofit organization here in the United States that raises money to give back to this central american community. For every handmade, one of a kind bracelet sold, Pura Vida Bracelets donates back 1% of the profits to the Surfrider Program through [1% to the Planet], working at cleaning up and preserving beaches and oceans all over the world, all the while creating jobs and providing clothing, food, and homes for low-income, well-deserving artisans living back in Costa Rica.
So I'll leave you with this - do you part and give back. It's easy, affordable ($5 dollars per bracelet) and takes very little time to complete and process an order. You won't ever realize what it means to the man or woman back in Costa Rica making these bracelets, to be able to afford the necessities in life rather than the luxuries we are used to back in the United States. In a country where the income is very low in regard to tourism, buy a bracelet and allow these people to maintain their jobs and live the happy life they are more than deserving of living.
Pura Vida. Feel it, live by it.
